Making a Lie Detector For a Competition

I have to make a lie detector for a competition. I was thinking about
using my Basic StampIIsx to measure the time it takes for a small
capacitor to discharge through the person's body. Is there a better way
to measure skin resistance?

-Thanks

I have a book by J.J. Barbarello he shows a 555 timer that has the probes as
    part of the
input to the 555 for setting the time duration, so the output would have
    different pulse
width's which could be measured using a Stamp.

Is this adequate for a lie detector? Are there also ways to inexpensively
measure chest activity and perhaps also brainwave function w/BasicStamp?
