Stamp Project of the Month

April's Stamp Project of the Month is now available. Something a bit
different this time, but something almost everyone will find very useful.
One thing: if you actually build this, let me know if my instructions are
correct -- I reversed them from a working board, and I'm not 100% sure I got
it all right! Still, you should be able to figure it out from the schematics
and the pictures.
And yes, I considered doing an April's fool project, but decided against it.
Something like Human Genome Sequencing with a Basic Stamp.
The project is, as always, at www.al-williams.com/awce/som.htm

The project of the month is now available. Reading temperature in centigrade
this month -- lots of interesting stuff from resistance calculations, curve
fitting, and engineering unit conversions.
Enjoy.

Just a quick question.
I love the Stamp but recently bought a BX-24. Too bad it uses Microsoft
Basic.
Do you have any suggestions where I can read up and learn it's type of Basic?

That project looks very useful.
I imagine it would be fairly easy to add code so that when someone calls,
they could then press 1 to turn on something, 2 to turn on something else,
etc.
Cheers,

Not Stamp related this month, but I guess next month I should look at
the new Stamp editor. Still of interest, though.

Nice project of the month.
But does'nt letting the stamp go to sleep and then wake it up by pressing
the reset button do virtually the same thing?

Klaus

Well, there are a few differences. First, the Stamp does draw some power in
sleep. There is a small drain, plus it wakes up on occasion.
Second, sleeping the Stamp doesn't power down the rest of your circuit. My
scheme powers down everything attached to the output side of the relay
contact.
Another small issue: when you press the reset button, the Stamp won't come
out of reset until you release it (unless you wire up a special reset
circuit). With my scheme, the Stamp starts running right away.
Glad you enjoyed the project.
