I am curious about this minimill, you said you use this at work.
Can you tell me more about it?
Good and bad?

reputations. I had a Sherline mill for a while that I had converted to CNC
and it was a nice machine. If you check out
http://www.sherline.com/cncdlrs.htm#cncdlrs you will get a list of suppliers
that sell CNC converted Sherlines. If you are a little more adventuresome
the Sherline is an easy machine to convert yourself and there are a lot of
people that would be willing to help you understand what to get and do. Best
place for info is the CAD_CAM_DRO_EDM group at Onelist
http://www.onelist.com/messages/CAD%5FCAM%5FEDM%5FDRO ).

Over on the CAD_CAM mailing list the MaxNC products don't have the best of
reputations. I had a Sherline mill for a while that I had converted to CNC

CAD_CAM list since it began and it has been the cleanest most to the topic
list I have ever seen. There was one major flame war in the past year and
the list manager stopped it with a couple of days. If you mean that there
are people with divergent opinions that are willing to discuss them in a
friendly manner and want to call that a flame, then yes half of it is a
flame war.
If you go to the Onelist Site you can see the archives of the list and make
a decision without having to join.
