Does anyone know of a good replacement item for the ‘keyverter’ keyboard interface?

Al Williams has a chip (Pack VI) that might work...

I would consider it myself if I needed to read a PC keyboard...For smaller Matrix keypads I use the EDE1144 by E-Labs...

    Hello from Buck Rogers
What I've got is a related problem. But from the opposite end. I am studying the behavior of a game platform posing as an embedded environment. Its running Linux. I need to feed it data from another source, it can read a standard keyboard, well standard for it, and its own mouse. Still another third-party company has out a box that translates PS2 keyboard signals into a form that it understands. I think it also does mouse movements as well.

Didn't Al have a gizmo out that enabled a BS2 family unit, to pose as a PS2 keyboard? I mean something that will read PS2 keycodes, and translate them into BS2 formatted data just perfect. But I don't currently have a need for it.
