CD Player Connection

I want to connect the BS2 to a portable CD player.· I want to play the CD when I get a signal from the Devantech SRF04 Ultrasonic Range Finder.

I could set this up to work with the Quadravox MP3 player but I think that a cheaper design would be to use an off-the shelf CD player.· (I've already set this up using the Quadravox QV306M.)

I think that I would need to use the portable CD player's remote control but how do I send a signal from the BS2 to the CD player's remote control?

Thanks,
Russell Suereth

If you can find a Philips CD player that uses the RC-5 protocol for the remote, you could use the IRBUDDY to send the signals.

    Or....

You could get one of those 'el cheapo' type portable cd-players, break it open and connect some sort of relays or octocouplers where the buttons are.
If it has a remote, you could hack that instead.

The IRBUDDY solution is neater, though.
