Hello
Is there a GPS reciever that can be connected to a basic stamp that has a accuracy of 5 meters or less?

Thanks for your help

You'll be looking for DGPS receivers. Laipac has some nice modules. I have a UV-40 I can't wait to play around with. Using DGPS it could(depending on environment) get a 1-3 meter accuracy.

I found the UV-40 and I have some questions. How do you hook it up to a stamp? Do you have any schematics? Also how do you get it to 1-3 meter accuracy?

    Thanks

I've had good luck with the Trimble Lassen SQ.· Highly recommended.

Most GPS modules are similar in operation. The UV-40 is VERY small and weights 6.3grams. The manual contains most info needed to operate the unit(request via email @ laipac). It uses the basic serial interface and outputs in NMEA or Sony Format. I do not have a connection schematic to a basic stamp. In order to get high accuracy you must enable DGPS which inputs corrections to the basic GPS. DGPS may not work everywhere in the world, but North America is a safe bet. The Coast-Guard has land based gps transmitters that correct discrepancies in the GPS location.
