On the help file for the stamp editor is mentioned for i2cin command:
"(BS2p firmware 1.3 or later is required to omit the Address parameter)
I just bought one week ago 5 ·BS2pe24· and when I read the ID is returned Basic Stamp 2pe24 ver 1.1 confused.gif

Buying a chip recently, I assumed that I will get the latest hardware realease, and not an old one.
Does anybody have a solution how to update the ver from 1.1 to 1.3 without sending the chips back?

    No, we have to do the reprogramming in-house. Did you order that module from us, or did you purcharse through a distributor?

    All modules in my hands are from Parallax directly. 5 in one shipment and 5 in the last one.
    I sent to you the info and invoice number and date

    Any BS2pe (maroon color) module will handle I2C commands without a word address (e.g. with the PCF8574). If you have an olde BS2p (gold color), then it may require an update to version 1.3 or higher to do that -- we will reprogram the module at no charge if you return it to us.

    And please make sure that your are in fact using our latest BASIC Stamp IDE.
