serial port emulator

i have purchased a new laptop w/o a serial port.· i purchased an adapter to connect through the usb port.· Stamps does not recognize the usb port apparently.· how can i emulate the serial port?

    I had the same problem with my laptop, I returned the adapter and got the one parallax sells and it work fine now.

    Grab one of the USB/Serial adapters from Parallax, or one with the FTDI FT232BM
    chip. The FTDI USB/Serial drivers emulate a serial port which is what you'll need with a Stamp.

    The FTDI USB/Serial drivers are the best on the market.
