Just a heads up...Jon did a another great job in Nuts and Volts magazine this month, this time on the Memsic 2125 Accelerometer. I'm thinking of getting one of these as soon as Parallax restocks.·Jon if you read this, I just want to know one thing...do you or do you not have an anti-gravity coffee cup holder in your SUV? lol

I don't ... yet. In fact, today I had a bit of a spill because I went and got coffee for myself and my (very cute) next-door neighbor, and I could only hold onto one cup at a time. I guess I should slow down a bit more for corners....

I'm glad you enjoyed the article and I hope it helps you.

It's worth it, especially at the sale price...I bought 2, even though I only needed one for the Tank Tread Bot I built.· I'd have gotten a couple of the Temp/Humidity Sensors too, but they're back-ordered.

    Hey guys,

The Memsic Accelerometer is in stock.· We've got hundreds on the shelf and they are ready to ship today (9/2).

Technically, the sale was supposed to end as of today in accordance with the Summer Special.· But since we ran out of stock on this part we'll continue it through the weekend....ending it on Monday.

Chris or anybody, what's a good imaginative application for the accelerometer in a bot? I can see using it for a bump sensor, and a way to sense near tip over conditions, neither of which I need. Another question...I subscribe to Nut's and Volts mostly for Jon's articles. Since I kinda always find Nuts and Volt's robotic articles kinda boring, is Servo magazine worth a try? Thanx in advance.

The two you mentioned are pretty much all that comes to mind for my own uses...Well, Start/Stop and tipping...

According to the spec sheet, these can be used to replace r/c gyros(- the mixing)?
Pretty inexpensive it thats the case... I suppose the resolution is different but still they seem too good to be true.

Detecting bumpy terrain, wind gusts(for stationary hovering), earthquake/vehicule sensor(dunno how sensitive these are)...lots of uses.

Yeah thanks!· It's temporary!· The system wouldn't let me upload it as an image attachment in another forum/thread, so I just changed it.· It'll be back to normal tomorrow so I don't cause any headaches!
