LCDs
I have come across a couple of 40 pin LCDs (with no circuit board for interpretation) and I was woundering how I can figgure out the pinning. I have no model number, or anything. There are 20 pins on each side (above and bellow the display). So, my guess is that the pins litterally tie into each of the crysals to change their polerization and switch from clear to black. If I'm right, all I need to do is figgure out what the maximum voltage I can put on each pin is, and make a circuit to draw each char and place it properly.
I've tried googling but all i've found are LCDs with circuits that do the drawing, not just raw LCDs.

This is a display like what I think you have...And this is the type that requires the driver chip I posted.

It came out of a qualcom cellphone, numbers are DMC-50922NFJ-SLY, C0B50922A-ASSY, GCMK-50CX, sticker on the tar-chip says 9945N4-C0, CV90-46004-4,·the LCD·has symbols along the top, and the bottom 80% or so is made up of bitmapped character blocks in a 12x4 pattern.· I'm guessing that it's truly a 16x4 display, with the latter 4 digits of each row controlling·the symbols at the top.· It has 10 pins for interfacing, and I havn't tried assuming it's a hitachi-like.· But I may just have to do that.
