PWM + serial communication

I have an dimboard with a bs2 on it.
(Pushbuttons and pwm commands)
Now I want to connect my PC with it.
Once conected through·pin 1 a rs232 command in the format D0250
'D' card '02' chaneel 2 and '50' the dimming value
But when the bs2 is doing the pwm maintenance, he can mise a rs232 input.
Is there a solutions for this?
I thougth the bs2 has no rs232 buffer.

Use hardware flow control on the serial communications.

It is a existing board. Just Rx, Tx, Atn en GND are connected to the Comm of the PC.
