Is there anyone out there that could help me come up with a simple but yet somewhat unique project for a student with a low budget and ample time? Im·kinda new to the stamp and am not really aware of its capabilities, therefore have no idea for what to do as a project. Could someone give me a hand??? Anything would be appreciated.

As any suggestion is ok, you can find some low budget projects just by searching for "basic stamps + projects" on the web, Google maybe.

I would start with what your other intrests are, think of something in your life that has a problem that needs to be solved... Then slove it... Start small.

If you have a stamp, am I to assume that you also have completed or looked through one of parallax books (WAM for instance)?

My problem isn't ever thinking of ideas for projects, it's always finding the money and time.

Science and Surplus is your friend... Look arround one and see if there is an odd thing-a-ma-jig that doesn't give you an idea.

I have had students do projects like temperature monitor for the passenger compartment of a car.· When temp gets too high, the stamp rolls the window down a few inches.· One student used the stamp interfaced with the sonic ranger to make an alarm sound when the wearer (presumably a blind person) walked too close to an object.· There were a lot of neat little projects in a book written by David Vernier called How to Build a Better Mousetrap·published by Vernier Software Company.· IT is written for the apple II computer but most of·the projects are easily adaptable to the stamp.

Showing up to school doesn't make you a student any more than crawling up in an oven makes you a biscuit.

    Thanks Cogburn & Tony,

·· I've had several people e-mail me about it asking me questions, commenting, and even telling me they've built their own and love it.· A few sent me suggestions on improvement, a few which I won't mention...·· ;-)

Anyway, I love to share fun little projects like this...

Take my project for example im going to try and build my own keyboard, because i cant play a piano for the life of me so im going to try and make one that i can play. Simply by using push buttons, its not hard its cheap there really isnt any extra expenses. Think of it like that...think simple then build on it.

Thanks Koglin, youre actually the first one to give me an example of something that a student with no $$ might actually be able to do. Thanks, I think im gonna build a motion detector with a deal that sends a small amount of currnet through my fridge door handle, because ive always had problems with a roomate sneaking into my kitchen and stealing my beer so maybe now i can catch him, or at least make him think twice about it.
