Hi,

I'm curemtly·planning a new project which will involve a simple RF data link and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with RF modules such as the Radiometrix TX3/RX3 modules or Quasars similar RF modules.

Regards

Steve

The transmitter and receiver modules sold by Velleman are very inexpensive and work just fine for simple one way transmission of data.

Take a look at the TWS/RWS modules on my website.

    Thanks,

With the Radiometrix Easy Radio and the modules suggested I should be able to select an appropriate device for my project.

    Regards

Is the Digital I/O on those Velleman modules usable for RS232?· Or more for bit banging?

The modules that Sid Weaver has posted on his link look identical to the Velleman modules. The frequency and the pinouts are the same.·His code, using·SEROUT & SERIN, is similar to what we ended up with.

His·prices are·a little lower than what my brick and morter store sells them for.

Does the·use of·SEROUT & SERIN·imply that they are·"usable for RS232"? I hope that this question does not sound ridicules, I am truly curious what the answer is.

We used the transmitter on an NX1000 as a remote control with the receiver on a BOE-Bot and did wireless control. The 4 buttons on the NX1000 were forward/reverse/left/right. It took us a little while to find out how valuable the sync pulse was, and you can probably imagine the kind of results we were getting before we understood it.

Has anyone picked up those RF Rcver/Tx'er chips and built their own modules?

Just curious as I've run across the chips a few time while researching things on the Net!
