RFID and proximity with Basic Stamps

Hello,
I'm interested in putting together an RFID application that would read a security sticker as employees come into the office.· I would like·to use RFID so that the employee doesn't have to present a badge or key in a code.· If the employee was within range of the RFID transponder that is all it would take to identify the user.
It seems like microchip has the microID product and philips has the I-code...if anyone has any design suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Christopher
