using RadioShack IR emitter/detector set

Well, I'm not totally sure where to put this post, but because im using these for robotics, it went here. Anyway, I have this "Infared Emitter and Detector" set I got from radioshack, (part no. 276-142) and I have not been able to successfully use this with the basic stamp at all. The infared Emitter is just an infared LED. But dont really know what the "detector" is. I believe it to be some sort of transistor with the base pin replaced with the infared sensor, so it only has two leads (Collector and Emitter). Anyway, if anyone has successfully used this thing, I would love to hear how

The detector would be used just like a transistor in the circuit.· You could tie the emitter to ground, and the collector to a BS2pin, and to a 10K pull-up resistor.· Monitor the pin, when the IR is hitting the detector, it will be pulled low, but when it's not the pin will go high.· Hope this helps.

Yeah, you're welcome...And I didn't answer your other question directly, but I will now...You asked if anyone had successfully used this, and how...It just so happens that exact set was used in this:

Which, BTW, uses a BS2 (OEM) for a controller...
