Mouse to BS2 lost cause?

I have read all the topics here that are concerned with adding a mouse, of any kind, to the BS2 and found that most, if not all, say something around it is a lost cause.· Too slow or not feasable.· Is there no way a mouse can be used as an input device for the BS2?· I am sure thee has to be some use.· Thanks for your help.
