Starting a new project today, a web-controlled robot with live duel-view video feed.· Can anyone recommend good (and free) streaming software for the video feed?

Details and progress of the project --->· http://68.11.58.106:69/robot.html

Did you get the camera already? I use a D-Link DCS-900W internet cam, comes with software. and runs on 5 volts. BTW, my wife found one of those robots in a second hand store a few months ago...she almost got it for me. Good luck with your bot!

The Navy's firewall will not let us access site's linked to unusual ports (ie 69) and often doesn't allow numerical IP addresses. Do you have a normal URL that we can view your work at?

I have tried numerous times to make these things, and never can succeed, so mabe you could post an overview on construction when youve completed it?

When I've finished the project I'll post on my site detailed photos of interfacing, along with source code for the stamp, VB code I used as the intermediary, mIRC script that parsed the commands, list of software used for streaming, webserving, and irc serving.

The project was a success.··yeah.gif· I and other web-surfers had fun adventures with the bot.· Some tried to drive him to my neighbor's house and knock on his door, others got a kick out of trying to make the bot flip (they succeeded more than once), and others had a challenge attempting to stack objects using·the bot's hands.· And while I would like to keep him online a while longer, the time has come to disassemble him because I need some of his parts for a new project.· "Number Five alive!· No Disassemble!"... sorry bot!

The web-bot project was quite easy in comparison with my next task.· The robot was already built, and interfacing the controls wasn't hard at all.· Now I am challenged with designing and building an autonomous flying machine from scratch.· I'll start a new thread for this project.

Thanks to those who participated in testing and exploring with the web-bot, I hope to see you again when my next project "takes flight" smilewinkgrin.gif

I didn't realize you had even finished the project!· cry.gif·· The message before said you would post information when it was done, and the next message was that you disassembled it!· Bummer...I'd have liked to have tried it out.
