Forums for dummies!

Hi,
Is there a 'Forum for Dummies' manual?
I am having a hard time figureing this thing out.
Just an old time bit banger, and getting bogged down in this GUI stuff.
Can I see a list of new questions asked, or do I have to select them one at a time?
Fine for High Speed internet. When Im on a long distance dial up it (at a hotel on the road for work)·will take 8 hours to look up the 24 posts and 120 whatever elses are here.
I am an old dog that can learn new tricks, but a good manual would be a great assistance. A quick look at the 'Help' menu did not shed much light.
Whats the diffrence from a thread, a breadcrumb, a reply, a post.
Is there a spell checker? My old e-mail had spell checker. Dont want all you people seeing what a terrible speller I are!
Thanks,
Alan Bradford

Well, a forum is a group of topics which contain threads.
A thread is nothing more than a series of posts related to the issue at hand.
Posts are what you actually type·regarding the topic or in response to posts that have already been·given.· A reply to a post in a thread simply adds a new post to the end of the thread.
So it goes like this:
etc etc
Once you visit the forum initially and look around, it remembers what you've already looked at and the next time you visit, it will change the icons next to topics and threads that have·had activity since you were last here.
Currently there is no spall-chicker on teh foroom, but I hear chatter from IT Guy that they are working on getting it implemented.
Hope this helps
