I have available in large quantities 4 digit common cathode displays. What is nice about these are they are super large digits. One being 1.8" high another being 2.5" high and the third being 4" high. That is the height of each numeral. They are green LED's and in series. The current is 20ma per segment and the voltage drop on each led is 1.6VDC. The 4" display has 5 leds per segment so a 12VDC supply is needed to power it. If you need any further info contact me off list at eric.adams10@verizon.net
The Maxim MAX7219 and MAX7222 can drive eight seven segment LED digits. Serial data from the stamp to control them. Go to http://www.digikey.com and put in MAX7219 in the search window. You can get the data sheet there.

If you find the 6 digit multiplexed version (or a 5 digit) I am also looking for the same. Please post if you find it.
However, I have googled the heck out of the topic, can't find any. Probably LCD time....?

Now that I am now clear(er) I know what you need. I don't ever remember seeing a six digit anywhere, but I did just find a five.

I know if you need a six, you need six. But, how about the old fashion way. Point to point wireing?
That is what I had to do on all the clocks I built.
Good Luck,
