P2 Eval Board

Greetings,

I have been trying to use the Digital Video Out acessory on the P2 Eval board but I can-t get no image even though I change thr driver pin. Does anyone had a similar problem or know how to fix this issue?

Thank you in advance

Well, some monitors do require the +5V signal to be present.
The revised parallax docs now show this:

Beside the 5V▶ output pad is another pad labelled “ACC 5V”. That is the 5V supply from the accessory socket. Some video monitors require a 5V signal connecting to the 5V▶ pin, so these two pads with 0.1” spacing make that convenient. For example, a 0.1” pitch header could be soldered here, and a shunt plug used when 5V is required to the monitor.

Also, try the HDMI_Spiral_Demo from Chip. Think it comes with Prop Tool (but for some reason doesn't show up in demos?).

For me, it is here: C:\Users\allen\Documents\Propeller Tool\Examples

  • Thanks RayMan!!!

I tried in a pc monitor and it worked.

On a TV it doesn t, I presume it needs CEC information.

Again thank you very much for pointing in the right direction.

Glad you got it. That HDMI Spiral should work on most TV as it is your basic 640x480 with 250 MHz pixel clock. Might want to double check that +5V jumper, some TVs do need that...

  • Yes, you need the 5V pin bridged, lots of TVs don't even let you switch inputs without it.
Could also / should put a small resistor there, you don't want the actual 5V supply on there where it could come into contact with the data pins.
