[Resolved] Propeller tool 2.9.3 won't start
This was working early this afternoon.
But now it won't start. It shows the splash screen and then after a few seconds the app goes away (no longer shown in task manager).
Restarted machine. Uninstalled & reinstalled (twice). No luck.
Turned off antivirus. No luck.
I've also noticed that my .spin & .spin2 files are no longer associated with the tool.
Suggestions?
Edited:
I tried deleting the icon cache files to fix the problem with the unassociated files. That fixed the problem with the association but not with the app starting.
But there was something strange... The date & time shown for the icon cache files was during a time when the machine was completely off (not sleeping, etc.). That time was between when the app was working and when the app no longer works for me.
Coincidence?

Comments
To save further head banging you could try SPIN Tools IDE. You’ll find it very familiar; like PropTools updated for 2024! P1 and P2 both supported.
https://www.maccasoft.com/spin-tools-ide
PropTools is EOL - no longer developed / supported.
To add to Michael's comment, Marco (creator of Spin Tools) has added support for external compilers which means you can get the latest features from Parallax (via PNut). Propeller Tool -- as comfortable as it is -- has a very old version of the P2 compiler in it.
Well, I tried it. I use the P2 debug functions heavily in my project and could not tweak them sufficiently to make it work for me.
I'm using a different machine for now, which is working fine.
Thanks anyway for the input...
In case someone else runs into this issue, deleting the registry settings under "ParallaxInc" fixed the issue.
Yeah the registry settings get messed up sometimes and need to delete MRU list
