File Types?

I wanted to download the documentation for the 360 degree feedback servo. Went okay at first but when I opened the file I was surprised to find an xxx.STP file inside. Where did these come from. Never heard of them before!?

That's a 3d file. You may be able to find an online viewer for it.

You have to provide your name and email. I tried it with one of my own .STP files. It works.
https://www.freecad.org/ It's really complex program, but if you just want to look at a stp file it's not too bad.
I like FreeCAD. I use it for creating components for Diptrace and KiCad if I can't find one online.
