    Agreed. I have played a couple of MOOG units back in the 80's and 90's.

    So I got 2 555s and solder one of these (2 needed) lft's 555 contraptions. It works, generating something about 500kHz. Instead of C64 I connected the output to a P2 and made a quick program using one of my audio drivers. It plays (whatever waveform I want), I can change the audio frequency with my hand over a piece of wire.

    To do: solder the second 555 to control the volume, make the real program for a P2, add several encoders to adjust "zero beat" and ranges.

    Then I wonder if it is possible to make a theremin with a P2 and nothing else...

  • that Goerzel demo from chip may give hints to do so.
