Whats up with emic 2 prices?

Just noticed doing as another had done with the mystery box prices that the Emic2 was $150 at parallax. (no, sadly this was NOT in the box) I don't remember paying that much for one a few months ago, around $60(?) or so. Why the 3x increase? has this happened to other parts? Curious.

    Was going to mention that, but listed out of stock. May order Mikroe-2253 to try it. $39.00 via Mouser.

    The parts costs became 10x higher. Emic2 has some rather niche parts.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it goes EOL in the near future. Maybe a P1 or P2 based replacement would be possible?

    A few years ago when Parallax pulled out of retail stores (Radio Shack, MicroCenter, etc) I picked up an EMIC 2 for 24.95 at MicroCenter. They had one left and marked with that closeout price.

    Emic-2 designer Joe Grand found a bunch in a surplus store, jump to 9:35.
