Temperature Sensor HELP!

Hello All,
I am working on a project where I need to record and store 200 measurements of the temperature in the room and the angle of my POT separately. I need the recording to stop when it is too dark and start where it left off when it is light. To control the light I have been placing a sharpie cap over the top of my photoresistor. Right now I know I am close but my Photoresistor is not stoping the recording and my temperature reading is way too high. I have attached pictures of my circuit, debug screen, and attached my code.
I am starting to think it's not possible. I have been working on this for about 4 days now. Any help is appreciated.

lynnhh,
Do you have a schematic of your circuit?
I see 2 ICs but I can't tell what they are.
Measuring the light level and position of a Pot as well as storing values in EEPROM are all explained in What's a Microcontroller (WAM).
I don't see any capacitors wired up.
