Regarding possible SPIN2 utility, a reference was made to a "40-year-old" book which described in detail the software implementation of some of the higher order math functions. At the time of the video recording, the specific book title could not be recalled. I recently scanned my bookshelf at work and found a book published in 1980 entitled "Software Manual for the Elementary Functions" by William J. Cody, Jr & William Waite. This book addressed specifically these functions: Sqrt, Alog, Exp, Power, Sin/Cos, Tan/Cot, ASin/Acos, Atan/Atan2, and SinH/CosH, and TanH. Each function section includes flow charts and detailed implementation notes.
I found this link on Amazon.com:
with a used copy of the book going for as little as $26.
