IBM edge computing and P2/P1?

Today at the Betanews site, there was a write up on IBM getting into edge computing. First I have heard of such a thing, but the IoT part sounds very interesting.

Now, how does the P2/P1 fit in, of course the P2/P1 is lacking some necessary items, like a secure WiFi connection among some other things.

The closest thing that Parallax has a the moment, that would be IoT edge computing, would be the Activity board with the WiFi configuration.

This sounds like it could be a very cool area to get into, as long as Parallax had the necessary equipment to sell.
