Digital QTI Output

The QTI sensor documentation (posted below) says that it can provide a digital output. How would this be accomplished? Would I have to use the A/D converter on the Propeller board? In the example provided in the documentation (although it uses BASIC instead of C) it looks as though it takes a reading straight from the pin, but the board is a Mini-SUMO.

In the spin examples look at the RC time, and re write the Bs2 example
The qti sensor is 5v, don't know how well it works on 3.3 v, but you could use a transistor to turn on the led, I don't have one to fiddle with it
