This popped up on my eBay notifications this morning!!!
Of coarse I paid too much, but when has that stopped me before?

Did you get the gold? Took me four years to find one.
Congrats to the proud new Papa! I love and treasure the blue one given to me by forum members who contributed to buy it several years ago.
Toddle ever onward!
@Publison - Yep! It’s gold. I have “most” of a gold one and a complete blue one already. Finding this made my day!
Paul
The gold was not complete?
This one is complete. The gold one I have already is missing something... memory escapes me at the moment.
This is a bigger win than you know @doggiedoc. You see, there were two versions of the Toddler: the one made here in the USA, with precision-machined legs (that cost us $17 each to manufacture), and the Chinese-made legs that were cast aluminum. I am pretty sure this kit is the former, worth every penny you paid!
I have spare parts, if needed.
What a win, wow!

Good to know Ken. I am very excited about adding this one to my collection!
Here's an S1 that needs some love!

I'm also a new papa of a bouncing baby S3. My family grew because I was the only bidder!

Ken, you need to sell accessory kits to convert Parallax robots to these:
Hmm, I don’t have an S3 yet. I’ve got Scribbler1and Scribbler2 but no 3. Hasn’t been on my radar I guess.
Then you're missing out, Doggiedoc. Adopt one today and complete the family!
S3's are still $100 off!
Excellent!!!
I was fortunate to have found a gold Toddler, already assembled, on eBay a few years back. Had to a very minor bit of rejiggering, but she works Just fine now. BTW her name is Tippi.
Good find! Congratulations!
Amanda
Plenty of rescue Scribblers in need of a new home on Ebay, too. I got a like-new S3 for $40: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scribbler-S3-Robot-from-Parallax-Easy-to-use-STEM-robot-to-grow-with/224352641298
Currently available Parallax robot deals:
10+ S1s, ~$25 OBO each shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Parallax-28136-Scribbler-Robot/193546585330
5X S2s, $40 or less each shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scribbler-2-S2-Robot-Parallax-Programmable-Open-Source/153891814778
Hi
What's the difference between s1,s2,s3? Also what is inside them? I've searched the parallax website and can't find any manuals or breakdowns or illustration of a dissassembled unit.

Hi
Thanks- but is the Scribbler manufactured by Parallax or Pololu or Robotshop? I don't understand why we have to go to a distributor to see what the manufacturer has to sell when the manufacturer has a perfectly good online store.
Also- how can I see what motors/ gearbox/ encoders/ etc etc are under the hood?
Dave
Manufactured by Parallax. You can buy it here https://www.parallax.com/product/scribbler-3-s3-robot/. It's on a tremendous sale.

You said it, Brother!
Here's a clean S2 for $33 OBO (incl shipping): https://www.ebay.com/itm/324260497724
This eBay seller has over 70 Scribbler robots available!
Dave: Your link loops back to this thread (not to Ebay) FYI.
Let's try again!

Hold off on that seller, DaveJenson. I just bought one from him and one wheel is kinda broken with some loose broken parts rattling around inside. Just what I need, another repair project.
Here's the broken wheel on my Scribbler 1. Seller refunded partially, which I agreed is fair. So now with shipping I paid $20 for an S1 and $19 for an S2. Smokin'!
The S1 is well worn loved, likely used in a school environment, which is why the seller has so many units. So if you have some Scribbler love to share, dive right in and rescue one.
