My cousin wrote the words" bite my " on the but cheeks of his underwear in conductive ink and it showed up on the scanner as if it was on his butt!
the TSA agents were not impressed
anyhow any item such as tools like leatherman are better left at home or in the checked in baggage going into the hold.
my drafting and architect tools include xacto blades, and as long as they are secured in checked in baggage and not accessible during the flight there is no problem
never put them in carry on baggage!
