Robot Indy Car Race October 23
A long way from DARPA's Grand Challenge! Averaging 120 mph should be quite a show!
The world's first head-to-head, high-speed autonomous racing competition, initially announced Nov. 5, 2019, is set to bring together more than 500 undergraduate and grad students, as well PhDs and team mentors from 11 countries, four continents and 14 U.S. states. The goal, beyond the $1 million grand prize for the first team to cross the finish line in under 25 minutes for the 20-lap race around the 2.5-mile oval track at the Racing Capital of the World?
