I'll try to make the next one more NYTimes-crossword-compliant. It's a lot harder to do, though.

I confess that the only one I did get without peeking was the one for the family of marshalls who're best known for cleaning up an AZ town and did so in several movies as well. Oh and one Star Trek episode.
Incidentally the chap behind the NY Times ones, actually did a crossword on that subject.
