Smart Pins on the Propeller 2 with Chip Gracey and Jon Titus - Today - 2:00 pm Pacific :)

I'm looking forward to learning all about the mysterious "Smart Pins " :)

  • The discussion was interesting as always but somehow I got the impression that we haven't talked much about smart pins, actually. I haven't looked at Jon Titus' documentation in detail, yet, but it's surely much more verbose and comprehensive as the original silicon docs.

What I missed a little... I expected Chip to tell us about the intention behind each smart pin mode. ADC, DAC, UART and USB modes are clear, of course. But there are lots of counting and time measurement modes. I understand what they do, technically (well, for most of them) but often I can't imagine what purpose they serve. An example application for each mode would have been great. But hopefully that's already covered in Jon Titus' work. I'll have to read it before complaining...

Use this one instead, that previous link had some problems preventing downloading/printing:

  • This document only uses Assembly. I would like to control phasing with P_NCO_FREQ & P_NCO_DUTY commands in SPIN.
  • @"Jeff Martin" have we figured out a means to get this document to generate a PDF without the inline images obscuring the surrounding text? I'd really like to use it but with some content hidden it's much more difficult.
