FTDI cable compatibility

Hello group,
I have an FTDI 3.3V cable like the one attached and was wondering if it can directly connect to my BS2P.
I have read information about level shifting and inverting but not much about using the cable.
Also, could I use my old green FTDI 3.3V basic USB board from Sparkfun?
I'm pretty sharp with electronics but it's been a while since I've used a Stamp.
Thanks
Jim

I am not familiar with BasicStamps, however their document says a DTR signal is required for restarting the BasicStamp module at programming the module.
Then BasicStampEditor will not identify modules and stop programming.
Maybe it is possible to use it as a serial connection for a debug terminal.
On the otherhand it seems that sparkfun ftdi basic has DTR instead of RTS. So it can connect BS2 with appropreate level shift for between BS2 txd and FTDI RXD I think.
