What is the latest editor / programmer that works on Mac?

I just bought a new MacBook Pro 16 and had already given up my Wndows PC's a number of years ago. Until recently i just dual booted a Linux pc to windows just to use the Parallax Propeller Tool. That has always been my favorite IDE. I've also been using Visual Code to do programming in Python and would love to see Parallax develop an extension for Spin and also be able to download to the propeller similar to the Prop Tool using Code.

It's been a while since I developed any code for the Prop. I've got some ideas for a new product or 2 so I'm wondering what is available that is reliable to edit and program a Prop 1 that works well on a Mac and Linux? I'm not interested in Prop 2 programming at this point.

I just opened Code and now see that there is an extension in development. So what does one use to download to the Prop?

Fastspin/FlexGUI supposedly supports the prop1 - https://forums.parallax.com/discussion/170730/flexgui-a-complete-programming-system-for-p2-and-p1/p1 It doesn't produce spin bytecode I don't think so hub space may be tighter. I presume the spin programs are faster running as a result though.

I've had my eye on the new MacBook Pro 16 too. My last laptop was a MacBook Pro 17 and it finally died.

But my point is --> I set up the 17 with dual boot Mac OS and Windows 7 using BootCamp. Worked great! Now I understand that the new 16 will boot Windows 10 with BootCamp and you can use the Propeller tool that you like.
