Need Vigor VS-11 Servo

I'm in desperate need of a discontinued Vigor VS-11 servo or two to replace a damaged unit. I have used and recommended these here in the forum and in some magazine articles. Hobby King was the only source and they are sold out now. Any chance someone here has one or two? Happy to pay well for them, thanks in advance.

Call your doctor if your servo stays at the extreme limit for more than four hours...

Thanks for looking. I used to see these servos for resale on Ebay or Google, but right now, bupkis. :(

Using these on two arms for a big robot for a project. I have enough but no spares. Dangerous territory.
  • Erco,

Try contacting Hobby King about a replacement or spares and see what they say.

Googled this one, came up with the pdf dataset from the Mfr. Maybe enough info to either cross reference to a new item, or see if you can direct order. Also looks like still a few resellers out there as well.

Thanks for looking, Frank I've Googled a lot and come up empty handed. Most online hits link back to Hobby King. I've emailed Hobby King directly about old stock and they have nothing.

These VS-11s are probably the cheapest servos ever made. They use nylon gears, but they have very high gear reduction, which makes them self-locking when unpowered under modest loads, which is exactly what my robot arms need. I bought some much more expensive HiTec Karbonite servos, which have much lower reduction and are unsuitable. No guts! For giant quarter-scale servos, I found their performance disappointing. I swapped in the cheaper servos and everything was perfect. Who knew?

    Erco,

Did you ask about a suitable replacement?

I guess you should have trusted the hoarder within :P

Found TWO locally from an old RC buddy, so I'm all good.
