Adding a toggle switch in the PLXDAQ and sending start or stop command to arduino

Hi
I am very new to excel VBA and arduino communications that I dont know whether I am putting this in right manner. I am trying to gather data from arduino in an excel spread sheet through PLXDAQ. I wish to add a feature to this application where I want to create a toggle button (say ON/OFF) on the existing UI and send the commands to execute or stop the program in arduino board. I want to execute this feature after the device status is connected in the UI. I do not know how to do this, any help will be deeply appreciated.
