The tutorial is a good quick functional overview. It will take you through enough to get started using git and github.
The book seems to be very well done. Actually can't believe it is a freebee ebook/pdf download. Looks like what B&N or other source would have charged $30+ for.
And yes, I am using it. After a setback the details of which will remain forever obscured from public view; will only say a little voice told me I should have known better......
