What is the difference between Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) sensor and GPS sensor?

My opinion is that GNSS is a superset and implies that multiple systems are supported. E.g. GPS (NAVSTAR) + various GPS augmentation systems (Egnos etcetera) + Glonass (Russia’s system) + Beidou (China) + Galileo (EU) should be widely available. There are sub $1 chips for smartphones that can handle all that.
