Having trouble downloading the necessary files to use Propbasic...and the IDE.

OK...having been a Basic Stamp user for almost 2 decades now, and the loss of the BS2sx, and the introduction of Prop Basic for the Propeller, and (yes another "and"), the introduction of the FLIP...for us that embed microcontrollers in our projects, could/would someone, perhaps, Mr. Green, detail the necessary downloads that I need to get myself started with the FLIP and Propbasic. (Boy, that is one long sentence..sorry) I have tried, even from the Parallax web site to do the above, and my computer just stalls..does nothing at certain points. (BTW, I am using Windows 7). Step, by step, would be nice. Just think of it like you are programming me...LOL.

I've only tried a little propbasic programming,but the easiest way I found was to use PropellerIDE.

There is a thread on the inclusion of propbasic at this link. While there is a lot of extraneous posts, it does have good info on use of the IDE with propbasic:

I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with propbasic programming so I can't give you much help beyond this.

Thank you twm47099 for your input. What I could use now, would be a couple of propbasic programs that show how to have 3 or 4 cogs running, doing different things, and then putting there "findings" in the hub ram for display on a Scott Edwards LCD...4x40. I seem to be having a problem with setting up different cogs to run independent programs, and then sending that info, to the hub ram in propbasic. Something that I can study, and then, maybe, see what I am doing wrong...thanks..really...DennO
