    There was a similar problem (on a much smaller scale) here a few years ago - some 'art' consisting of spiders with human heads was removed for "distracting traffic" and "potentially frightening small children".

    Are there actually people on the spider controlling it? Can't tell from my perspective if they are real or manicans.

    I'm Catholic, and don't see anything wrong with it. We do have a good share of complainers though.

    Spiders are God's creatures too you know.

    Sure they have disgusting eating habits, some like eating their mates or trying to poison everything.

    God's development team tried all kind of possibilities, 8 legs (and more), 6 legs, 4 legs. Then they hit on a great idea, if you had a good enough control system only 2 legs is required, the other appendages can be repurposed for other useful tasks.

    Brilliant!

    Edit: We might wonder why God's dev. team did not push the idea to just 1 leg?

    They did!

    The prototype was tested at the brazilian forests, before releasing him, for general genetic distribution purposes.

    But it was not that successful as they intended to do. He developed the bad inhabit of smoking and other disguising trickery.

    Perhaps the Magic Smoke, flowing out from his pipe, was the reason that made the team decide to keep it, only as memories...
