I just saw Jurassic World (yeah, 2 years late) and the Gyrosphere vehicle. Pretty cool, I suppose a PID drive system like Sphero's BB-8 could work on that to stabilize and avoid gerbilling. But keeping that sphere perfectly clean & optically clear might be problemmatic.
