I picked up one of these during Pololu's Memorial Day sale
I know there are many stepper drivers out there but this one is < $6 and very easy to use

I used a BS2 to perform 600 steps at full steps and 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 microsteps.

Outside of their use in printers, I had no experience with them. Until recently, my daughter purchased a Bob's CNC. Which I had assembled and set up. Similar motors as in your video, and they are fun to play with. And before I would pay over $500 dollars for such a thing, I would build my own. It really isn't that complicated.
