Took a look late last night. Some jumped out easily, but my head was hurting with most, so decided to retire.

Today I jumped to unknown, where I moved to stop a cog. I missed an other before adding a lock. Went to the shop where the shop keeper had a fit when I returned the product, but Was frustrated having to wait for the count to get to me. Later I compared the unknown event, and after cheating or rotating left, did another comparison, then rotated left while carrying, and jumping for joy, then ending with a cog stop of my cog id.

Probably a lot of errors, but fun to try. PS I am lousy at crosswords ;)
  • So here's the answer to one of them to give you guys a clue as to the kinds of answers there are:

    5. Sit-up to help these: ABS

    Here's mine:

    1. CLKSET (why do we still have daylight savings time?)
    2. SHL (is this why I'm left-handed?)
    3. SUB (fills in a cigar-shaped hole under water)
    4. REV (vroom!)
    5. ABS (Can we also add a PEX instruction to P2?)
    6. AND (... more and more and more and...)
    7. OR (because boats)
    8. MAX (that that that was too easy!)
    9. LOCKRET (they wouldn't give me a refunds, so I exchanged it for a LOCKNEW)
    10. TEST (because children)
    11. RDWORD (My dictionary has all the best words.)
    12. TJZ (The best way to test ice is to jump on it. several times, just in case the first time didn't result in a pratfall.)
    13. ROL, ROR (so dizzy...)
    14. COGID (each of my gears are identified solely by GUID)
    15. WAITVID (according to Ajit Pai, this will never again be an issue when net neutrality is tossed out.)
    16. NEG (*whew*)
    17. COGSTOP (if you use a loose cog instead of a wrench, would it be COGINIT?)
  • Cluso gets 7.5 points. Of those, three were not what I was looking for, but just a good.

Seairth gets 14 points. Of those, one was not what I was looking for, but even better. I did not accept OaR, BTW. :) Congrats, especially, for getting #12! I know it was a stretch.

I added justifications for each one. Which numbers other than #7 (which you, of all people should have totally given me!) were wrong?
  • 7. Heed the CALL.
    16. I had NOP (no operation), but I like yours better.

The rest are what I had. Congrats!

HEED! hahaa! I read that as "NEED". Doh! Now I see why "OaR" didn't cut it. :)

Ahh! As in "no operation required. just take two of these and call me in the morning." That's a good one too.

    Love the "NOP" :)

Thanks Phil. I am sure you took longer than I did to work them out ;) Hope you enjoyed contriving the quiz as much as I did in solving it. Well done!
