    I remember reading an article many years ago (in Discover magazine, IIRC) about what the human body would look like if truly intelligent design had come to bear instead of evolution. The hip and knee structures it posited were nearly identical to those of the chicken walker. This all goes to show that mimicking anthropomorphic structures (i.e. making humanoid robots) is not always the best approach.

    If our knees bent that way, this poor Polish girl would have to "intelligently redesign" her chairs.
