Ping versus Maxbotix sensors

Anyone have experience with the difference between these 2 sensors? I know Maxbotix makes a variety of models. I was looking for something with higher resolution than the Ping. I have ordered a Maxbotix MB1043 to try out.

    I've used both of these sensors.

    The main advantage to the Maxbotix is the variety of interfaces. The level shifters on the S2 prevented one from easily using it with a Ping so I used my Maxbotix with the S2.

    I don't think there's any increase in accuracy using the Maxbotix sensor. I believe the resolution limit is tied to the ultrasound's wavelength and I believe the two sensors use similar wavelengths.
