I kept seeing these ads everywhere for "Tactical" flashlights, and when they showed up in my local drugstore for only $19.99, I cracked and did what erco taught...I looked on ebay.
So I won an auction for one of these, snagged it for $4.25 delivered. After the usual wait, it got here. And it's quite a nice gadget for the price!
Kinda hefty since it's all metal. Run it either from 3 AAAs, or they include a sleeve for a 18650. It's very bright and adjustable. When you pull the lens all the way out, you see the pattern of the LED inside. Five modes available by clicking the button on the tail (bright, medium, low, strobe and S.O.S.) Although I wonder who would ever understand S.O.S. if a flashlight was pointed at them these days.
Search for "Tactical LED Flashlight G700" and you'll find lots of listings. I got one that didn't include the 18650 so it's cheaper.

But I'm surprised that yours is an either-or: three AAA cells are no match for a 18650. Either yours is significantly brighter on a 18650 cell or it drains those AAAs in a heartbeat.

Edit: Now that I include "steel" in the search string, I find a few. Still mostly aluminum.

If you want tactical, go big or go home. We have two of these, one at home and one in the wife's car. Best $15 you'll spend today. Bring on the zombie apocalypse. Excellent product, check the reviews.

Clearly you need to carry two of them. One in your left hand to blind and confuse your opponent by shining it into his eyes. One in your right hand to disable him with a severe whacking.
Not tactical, but this Ozark Trail Lantern from Walmart is really nice - 600 lumens and rechargeable lithium batteries.
I bought two...
