I just want to test it at hardware level.
Want to put it on breadboard of PPDB and just jumper power
to individual segments.
On the back of LED are eight pins.
How do you situate it on breadboard?
Thanks!
Merry Christmas!

I always use Genuine Parallax Parts. They have that
factory fit and keep my board running smoothly.:)
I will look for part # on part.
Happy Holidays!
Part # 5161AG
Ten pins total. 5 top and 5 bottom on backside.
Merry Christmas!
This isn't really a problem because Parallax offers a nice tutorial here.
While the tutorial is for C, you can still use the diagram to see how to wire up the display.
You'll want to make sure you use the resistors shown in the diagram so you don't damage the Propeller (or display) from too high of current.
You can turn the segments in the display on and off the same way you turned other LEDs on and off. Sorry, but I don't recall if you know how to do this yet?
BTW, (I don't recall if I mentioned this or not yet) I have a list of links to tutorials here.
Thank you!
What's a Microcontroller 7 segment LED chapter is showing just what we're doing.
Testing each segment hardware first before running code.
It has pin chart for LED.
We'll press on tomorrow.
Happy Holidays!
