I am reviving work done with Microsoft Robotics Development Studio. Can you point me to a copy of the Parallax -" Bluetooth Boe-Bot Example Code for MSRS v1.2.zip".
Hi sampelje! Welcome. I'm guessing Publison is likely to come forward with that file. I squirrel away cheap electronic baubles from China, but Jim is the Keeper of the Flame for real treasures such as you seek.
Erco tasked me with a mystery. I was not familiar with the add-on to the BoeBot. I only knew about Eddie
The Wayback Machine shows the package in question was brought out in 2006, but was not shipping until 2007.
I have been through 6 years of Parallax CD's, and nada.
Well, you found all the links I've already chased through the rabbit hole. Funny thing is there are several explicit links to bluetoothcontrolledrobot.zip via the parallax website. the file just doesn't seem to be around. I find that a bit odd - but alas what do I know!
I also wonder why the BoeBot was pulled from the last release of MRDS. I'm sure someone knows the business reason for that. Maybe Parallax and Microsoft got into a little spat.
I combed our archives for the zip file you are looking for – and I think I might have found it.
There also appears to be a PDF document with instructions for use, though we can no longer guarantee or claim compatibility of our instructions and/or the BS2 files with current operating systems and Bluetooth technology.
Wow, that is a blast from the bast. MS abandoned all that ages ago.
Isn't there a newer more robust way to revive whatever hardware you have? Or is it so that you have a large software component you want to bring back to life?

Are these what you were looking for?
Thanks for looking internally. This is one that slipped by me.
This all started because my college sophomore was asked to revive one of the EddieBot Platforms that the college had in the closest. He started with ROS but was struggling so we started looking at MRDS which came with the EddieBot at the time. After getting the unit working over thanksgiving I was quite intrigued with MRDS and just wanted to learn it - so down the rabbit hole, I went, looking for old code and old system component. Let's call it self-abuse - LOL. I actually find MRDS quite interesting as a multithreaded software communications toolset.
I suspect those in the know would say ROS is currently the preferred platform for current structured and research robotics. (if you all have another package that is superior do let me know). Once I finished playing with MRDS a bit more I plan to redo that work in ROS or whatever package folks see as the future.
I do appreciate everyone's help. It is interesting to look back in time and see how things have evolved. I've been involved with First Robotics for about 9 years but somehow missed the MRDS window. To involved with the constraints of First and their preferred Labview/Java toolsets I suppose.

Perfect and Thank you!!!!
While it's old code and maybe trivial is great to find folks who don't mind helping out.
Thanks Again!

I'm just glad they were still around; some older files were lost during the website transition a few years ago.

Again, thanks for all the help!

If you want to use MRDS with your Eddie hardware, take a look at this thread.
