$3.72 Sharp IR Sensors

Never seen these below $6 and that was a steal. You know I stocked up. Cable included. Life's good. I needed a distraction like this today to take my mind off of where this country is heading.

Let the affordable distance measuring commence!

Says only ten left but it may be a ruse.

  • Strangely, I was looking at this exact same vendor on ebay a few hours ago. They have automatic exchange rate discounts built-in, because they list in $CAD.

    They are also a bit loose on product photo standards - notice the ones that are flipped?

  • Have not used an IR distance sensor before. For a mere $3.72 I can probably order the thingy and answer the question myself, but I'm curious as to what requirements there might be for the surface being approached. For example, will these sense an approaching lawn if mounted on the underside of an R/C airplane?

    BTW, thank you for the distraction. ;)

    @U.N.:

    No good on airplanes.

    No good on lawns.

    No good outdoors.

    No good over 80 cm.

    My cause warts, drymouth, addiction, impotence, and social anxiety.

    Other than that, you're ready to rock!
